Biography:

Scherich was born and raised in McMechen and has called Moundsville home for the past 30 years. She is a graduate of John Marshall High School, West Liberty University, and West Virginia University. Scherich currently serves as Senior Vice President for a regional bank, where she has built a 31-year career marked by strong leadership and commitment to community service.

Scherich’s extensive civic involvement includes serving as President of the Marshall County Park and Recreation Board and as a Board Member for the Regional Economic Development Partnership. She is also active in the Ladies League of Marshall County, the Marshall County Schools Pride and Progress Committee, and the Evan G. Roberts Charitable Trust.

Her past service includes roles as a founding Board Member of the Strand Theatre Preservation Society, Board Member of the Moundsville Economic Development Council, Moundsville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and President of the Uptown Merchants Association. She also held leadership roles within Glen Dale Elementary School’s PTA and School Improvement Council.

Scherich’s long-standing dedication to economic and community development is further reflected in her 21 years on the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors—serving seven terms, including four as Board President. She has chaired major community events such as the Home and Business Expo, the Chamber Golf Scramble, and the Chamber Annual Dinner, and supported additional initiatives including the Tree Gala (co-chair), Ladies Luncheon Committee, and the Education Committee.

Scherich and her husband, Brad, are the proud parents of two children, Reagan and Colton.

Top Issues:

If elected, Scherich plans to focus on fiscal responsibility, increased transparency in county government, and strengthening essential county services—including law enforcement, EMS, 911 operations, and the animal shelter. Her priorities also include promoting sustainable economic and job growth, supporting community resources, and expanding recreational opportunities throughout the county.
