Biography:

Rio Phillips is a 23 year community organizer and activist who lives in Kanawha City and works in hospitality. He is Appalachian born and raised, from Waynesboro, VA. After launching numerous rallies supporting free speech and assembly, supporting justice and accountability in 2025, he decided to run for the U.S. Senate because “at the time no one was slated to run, and the situation on the ground was so bad, we couldn’t let Shelley Moore Capito go unchallenged.” We are building a statewide Progressive Working Class movement, and we need your help!
