Today is Election Day! Go Vote!

Today, Tuesday May 12 is the Primary Election in West Virginia and polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Don’t forget to bring a valid photo ID!

Races on the ballot include primary elections for U.S. Senate, U.S. House, WV Senate, WV House, and County Commissioner. The winners of these races will progress to the general election ballot in the fall.

Two Supreme Court of Appeals races, one Intermediate Court of Appeals race, along with School Board, State Party Executive Committee, and County Party Executive Committee will also be on your primary ballot. These elections are decided in the primary, meaning the winners of these elections will assume office at the appointed date, without progressing to the general election ballot.

If you are a registered Independent/ non-affiliated voter, you may request a Democratic ballot and vote in the Democratic Primary election. You must request the ballot, Independent/ non-affiliated voters are given a non-partisan ballot by default.

Finally, we would like to thank all of our Democratic candidates that stepped up and ran for office this cycle. We are proud to have several contested races this cycle and are wishing our candidates the best this Election Day.
